Reducing the dimensions of a machine has important benefits that should always be taken into account. Not only does saving space allow to move around a machine more quickly and with fewer obstacles, but it also allows to gain additional available space in a production plant, which could be used to increase the production capacity.
This is why reduced dimensions are always more frequently part of the decision-making process leading to the purchase of a machine, in addition to speed, versatility, and quality.
Altopack’s Technical Office decided to find a solution to this challenge a long time ago, designing compact machines which at the same time could be easily accessible for operators in case of interventions.
For instance, the packaging machine mod. AVE is very small if compared to similar models, its dimensions matching those of the iconic 1957 Fiat Nuova 500:
– AVE: 5 mm shorter than a Fiat 500
– AVE: 9.7 cm wider than a Fiat 500
Then, how can we fail to mention the famous PQ80, which currently represents the highest expression of this design philosophy, aimed at obtaining high-performance machines with reduced dimensions. The newest version with in-line film rolls is another demonstration of this concept. This machine was conceived to pack double-square-bottom bags and is less wide than an AVE. To give a clearer idea, it is 214 mm shorter than a Porsche 911 carrera. (PQ80: 4305 mm long // Porsche 911 carrera: 4519 mm long).
Finally, casepackers are well-known for being generally bulky and remarkably big. To take up the challenge, Altopack has decided to share a preview of our new casepacker UNIO, which will soon be part of our machine range.
For now, we can reveal that the machine dimensions will be around 4690 mm in length and 2122 mm in width. To make yet another comparison remaining in the automotive field, this machine is nearly as big as a Lamborghini Aventador, with a flat-case storage magazine that is as big as a 1972 Vespa Special.
